EXCITEMENT IS BUILDING over Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which finally hits cinemas on December 15.

Irish people will be keeping their eyes peeled for any sign of the counties Donegal, Kerry and Cork, which were used as filming locations last year.

One spot we know will be playing a huge part is Skellig Michael, which has become Ahch-To, Luke Skywalker’s island hideout.

Seeing it on the big screen is amazing enough, but they’ve only gone and immortalised it in Lego.

Yep – to tie in with the release of the film, Lego is bringing out an Ahch-To Island set, which is modelled off the beehive huts found on the island. How delightful is this?

It comes with Luke Skywalker and Rey minifigures, as well as a porg. A PORG! (The creation of which, as we now know, was inspired by the puffins on Skellig Michael.)

If you were wondering what to get the Irish Star Wars/Lego fan in your life for Christmas, consider the job done.

DailyEdge is on Instagram!

The adorable ‘porgs’ in the new Star Wars trailer are actually based on puffins found on Skellig Michael>
